1. Overview & Core Philosophy

Scan to PDF: AI Scanner, OCR is built as a privacy-first utility. All document scans, OCR text recognition, e-signatures, watermarks, and AI object counts are processed strictly on your device hardware. We do not operate remote cloud servers that upload or store your documents.

2. On-Device Processing

• Camera & Photos: Captured documents are saved only in the local app sandbox.
• AI Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Performed locally using on-device ML models for Latin and Devanagari (Hindi) scripts.
• Object & Inventory Counting: Watershed algorithms and computer vision run entirely on your device processor.
• PDF Encryption: 128-bit AES password encryption is executed directly on your phone.
• Local Backups: Saved as a local .zip file in your Downloads folder.

3. Automated Data Collection (Third-Party SDKs)

The App uses trusted Google services for app stability and ads:

• Firebase Crashlytics: Anonymized crash logs and device diagnostics to fix bugs.
• Firebase Analytics: Aggregated screen views and button clicks. Never collects document names, OCR text, photos, or passwords.
• Google AdMob: Serves non-intrusive ads. Collects standard advertising identifiers (GAID). Users can activate a 24-hour ad-free pass by viewing a rewarded video.

4. App Permissions

• Camera: To scan documents, ID cards, and count objects.
• Internet: For AdMob ads, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Analytics. All document scanning features operate offline.
• Vibrate: Tactile feedback for shutter buttons.

5. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because your files stay on your device, deleting an item in the app or clearing the app data via Settings > Apps > Scan to PDF > Storage > Clear Data immediately removes all documents and settings from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Scan to PDF: AI Scanner, OCR is a general productivity and utility tool not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. Any updates become effective immediately upon being posted on this page.
